Yarrr!!

In the .vmx: sound.present = "TRUE" sound.startConnected = "TRUE" sound.virtualDev = "sb16"

And if you need the OPL3/Yamaha Synth engine...

sound.synth.operational = "TRUE"

In the Guest OS: Creative SoundBlaster 16 Compatible Base Address: 0x220 // IRQ: 5 8-bit DMA: 1 // 16-bit DMA: 7 MPU401 Base Address: 0x330 OPL3 Base Address: 0x388

[Quelle: VMware Board] Wo hab ich meine vmware install cd... Der miserabele Soundsupport für MS-DOS / Win 3.1 war damals ein der Grund, dieses feine Programm wieder zu entfernen

"There are two solutions mentioned in the newsgroups. One is to change the sound.virtualDev setting from 'es1371' to 'sb16' in the VM config file, which enables the SB16 ISA card emulation, and DOS programs can use their own SB16 drivers. (See KATO Kenji, 4/30/2003 6:29PM; and Gary Neil, 5/27/2003 4:13AM.) The second solution is to download and install drivers for the Ensoniq es1371, available from a few driver archives on the web. (See Brian Caffrey, 5/16/2003 5:47AM.)"
